Schedule of Events

June 26, 2007

Thursday, June 28th- Exactly 38 weeks. 8am appointment with OB. 9am if everything looks good we will be heading out on a 4 hour drive to hubby’s grandparents cabin in Payson, AZ.

Friday, June 29th-Spend entire day with immediate in-law family at cabin, then late evening head down to Tempe, AZ. 2 1/2 hour drive. Spend night at Sariah’s.

Saturday, June 30th-Wake up at 5am to get ready for family pictures at 7am. After pictures change out of ridiculously hot dressed up clothing and sit under Sariah’s air conditioner till Family Surprise 80th Birthday Party for hubby’s grandpa.

Sunday, July 1st-Drive back to Albuquerque. (baby can be born this day as long as it’s after we get back to ABQ but I’d rather not be in labor during the 6 hour drive.)

I know, you’re probably thinking I’m crazy for even considering going to Arizona two weeks before my due date. But I’m not really worried about going into labor. My daughter was only 3 days early. But just in case we’ve already talked to insurance and everything is fine if I were to go into labor. I just walk into the hospital and give them my insurance card. Voila! I am allowed to have a baby. Plus my son was born in Phoenix, so I can go see my old doctor if I need to. Of course having a baby in Phoenix would make things complicated so we’ll just assume that’s not going to happen.

Monday, July 2nd- (This would have been my grandpa’s 78th birthday. I have mixed feelings about the baby being born on this day. But if she comes this day that’s okay too.)

Tuesday, July 3rd-Mom flies in from Washington. She doesn’t arrive till 5pm, so I guess this would be a good day for baby to arrive.)

Wednesday, July 4th- Independence Day (This would be a fun birthday. Sariah and I have already come up with fun “patriotic” middle names.)

Thursday, July 5th- Next OB appointment in the morning. A baby shower for me in the evening! (I would like to NOT miss my own baby shower, so after the shower would be fine! :-D )

Friday, July 6th- (great day for baby to arrive)

Saturday, July 7th- The day we’d like baby to be born, the date my parents say I HAVE to have the baby by! (10 days from my daughter’s 3rd birthday.) But I know the hospital will be C-R-A-Z-Y busy that day. It’s suppposed to be a “lucky” day, everyone wants to be married or have their baby born on this day. Do you know every chapel in Vegas is booked for this day?

Thursday, July 12th-My due date (5 days from daughter’s 3rd birthday) I probably won’t go this late, I really hope I don’t!

Friday, July 13th- Friday the 13th, baby cannot be born this day.

Saturday, July 14th-My dad arrives (according to him she MUST be born before he arrives!)

Tuesday, July 17th- My daughter’s 3rd Birthday.

So I guess like on Allyson’s blog, any predictions as to when we think this baby girl will arrive? Have at it, and have fun!

Because I did have a previous c-section the doctor would like to avoid using pitocin as a way to induce labor. She’s all for “natural” forms of induction such as separating the membranes.  The chance of it actually inducing labor is low, but we’re not going to take the chance of it happening so we won’t be having her do it this week at 38 weeks. If no baby by July 5th (39 weeks) we’ll have the doctor do it at that appointment.

First of all, thank you all for the name suggestions. Hubby and I think we’ve finally narrowed it down to one, the middle name is still up in the air though (maybe).

Sorry for the long space since the last post, I decided last minute to take a trip to Utah. It was for my Grandpa’s 80th birthday, and he wanted a big party. I hadn’t planned on going with everything going on but then last minute decided there was no reason why I couldn’t go. The kids and I went up a few days early to spend time with my sister-in-law (hubby’s sister), we went shopping, she did my hair (awesome blonde and red highlights), and my my MIL and 13 yr old SIL came down from Idaho for a day.

Grandpa’s birthday party was a great success. A very good turnout, they almost ran out of food, a good sign.

I stayed with my old friend from college. She only lives about a mile from my grandparents. They have a 1 year old little girl that I was finally able to see (except for pictures), and she was so cute. It was fun to watch my two kids help out with her.

While I was in Utah my hubby decided it would be a good time to retile the entryway, the kitchen, and rip out the carpet in the dining room and tile that as well. Two days before I was going to come home he realized he had taken on a bigger project then he thought and “gave me permission to extend my visit another two days”. It’s amazing what a difference it is.

I am currently 36 weeks and 3 days, at last appointment only 1/2 centimeter dialated, but good news is baby is head down. Confirmed with an ultrasound that showed that beautiful, little, perfect, round, circle of a head.

Two weeks ago my hubby’s string quartet decided to throw us an impromptu baby shower. It was just the quartet and their families, small and sweet. They all chipped in to get us a new crib! It came last week and we got it set up thursday night. New matching bedding is now on big and little sister’s beds.

I took a lot of pictures, they’re on flickr if you want to see them all.
